Department Overview:


Department of Social Work is established in the year 1972. Social Work is a Professional Course where young graduates can get employability in the field of family and child welfare, counseling, schools, funding agencies, urban, rural and tribal development programs, hospital settings, criminology, international organizations and non-governmental organizations. Ever since its inception Social Work has a great scope for the advanced career for the students who have completed their courses. The alumnae of the department are spread all over the world working in the government and private sectors. A few of them are working in the educational, psychiatric and counseling centers. Social Work Profession has multidimensional approach and it has a subject of diverse discipline such as sociology, psychology, counseling, psychiatry, research methodology, women and child development, criminology, NGO management, social problems and social legislations. Field work practical include programs such as concurrent field work, block placement, rural camps and study tours. Students are sent to participate on various programs of the organizations in an organized manner. Department has a network with twenty organizations and collaborate with them in organizing state and national level programs in the college premises. Social work Students are also encouraged to attend National and International Conferences and make paper publications. Because of its nature the young graduates are encouraged to take up their career in different fields depend on their aptitude.
